How to make your Home Quarantine more productive one?

Its been quite a long time, pandemic has taken over everything, and we are all caught up at our place.. limited to our needs, resources and also socially distancing from our loved ones.

This pandemic has a high demands of quarantining one self if you are a free traveller or a medic..as we know how this works, contact to contact, surroundings.. environment..

But this doesn't only effects you physically but mentally too..as far as what I have read through news and researchers, people may suffer from symptoms of depression- stress, lack of sleep, tiredness, loss of appetite, anxiety and what not.. depends on person to person.

Here, I would like to discuss about how you can overcome majority of mental stress and physical too.. by activities you may try during your quarantine period.

1. Reduce your screen time.

As we are all shelled up in a room we tend to spend a lot of time in social media. Yes! You should definitely catch up with your family and friends in this rough time through group video calls as this might be the only handy way to stay connected but not the part where you are scrolling down and finding some virtual entertainment through social media. Also, the aftermath of every single wave of pandemic and its update on the news will only make one carry the anxiety every single day of quarantining, so may be we could avoid that too..

2. Read your favourite books (BESTSELLERS/FANTASY)

All right! THIS may be the right time to catch up with your favourite writers if you are a fan of fictions or facts totally your call! Also who don't like comics or have been DC or Marvel fan, movies and short films are fine..but they still can't beat the excitement we had turning those comics pages.


Also, if you are a medical student or any student irrespective of your major, you will find an ample amount of time a day to have a refresher going through your academic books..ya..ya..not everyone would like to get stressed becoming a sandwich between books thats why I just called it as a refresher. Again, its all up to you..


3. Yoga

Its natural, and any one can develop anxiety with all these going on.. but yoga can actually turn helpful for both mind and body.. It helps improve respiration, blood flow, gain composure and also helps to achieve ideal weight through loss or gain. As movement is bounded to a room, you can burn it (calories) efficiently, and the best part!.. people of all ages can perform this not like any gym or soo..

4. Do it the hobby way!

Why not? Isn't this the only time you are getting when you can actually do what you like..??! Some of you might say its Wanderlust, Riding Motorbikes or Shopping.. lets not help that, but try doing something out of your hobbies indoors.
Creative souls- Hit that canvas with your favourite water colours, sketches.

If you are into gardening and can't go outside don't ya worry, your indoor plants can use that affection too. Try colouring your pots indoors..


Are you a rockstar? May be, you can brush up your vocals or get your hands on your favourite instruments you might have been far away with..

Dancing also is a very great way to keep your body in shape and action.

If you are a bachelor or living on your own in the apartment, have the kitchen to your self, and also a great chef.. try sharpening your culinary skills at HOME.
5. Journalling/ Diary writing

It is also a great way of keeping your mind on track, helps you express your emotions, perceptions and feelings. It might also help you record your quarantining journey everday, describe, collect and share them for laters..

6. Try making a mood board or a monthly planner..

Both are totally different from each other though as th first one calls for the things you fantasize and want to achieve in life or in that particular period whereas monthly planner is strictly factual, no drama and fantasy but the goals and reminders you have set for yourself. Both are equally awesome and you might need some reorganizing self "Thing!" in your life. 🙂


7. Music is therapy and we know that. Take some time and enjoy.
8. Spa Day..

And you don't have to splurge it on expensive spa outdoors.. scented candles, favourite soap bomb for bath tub(if you have), if not then your favourite shower gel could never disappoint you either, shampoo, hair mask, moisturizer, essential oil and you know the drill.. calming music.. help you relax and also have a lot different change than a normal shower..

Don't let the negatives overpower the positives of your life. Stay calm and spread love from a distance. After all, this is the only thing the society needs at this moment. Educate yourself for this and others around you as self awareness is a need and a deed. Help someone who needs it more than you do.
